Take the #ParisPledge

Take the #ParisPledge

The international community is getting ready for the UN climate conference to be held in Paris this November, but the once Abbott-now-Turnbull Government is dragging us backwards.

Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has called Australia a "free-rider."

US and China have questioned whether Australia will even meet its - inadequate - emissions reductions targets through the 'direct action' scheme, and others have questioned the fairness of Australia's weak targets when the rest of the world is doing so much more.

This is the critical decade for action.

We must take strong and urgent action to reduce emissions. Australia must accept its global responsibility, embrace the opportunities that renewable energy brings and commit to a strong #ParisPledge.

The Australian Greens support a target that's in line with the science: 40-50% by 2025, 60-80% by 2030 and net-zero pollution by 2040.

Will you add your voice and take the #ParisPledge?
