Disability Inquiry Royal Commission

After harrowing evidence provided to the Senate inquiry into violence, abuse and neglect of people with disability in institutional and residential settings, the Community Affairs References Committee has tabled a report with 30 recommendations for action including a Royal Commission.

The findings of widespread violence, abuse and awful mistreatment are deeply disturbing and it is time that our government acted.

A Royal Commission is necessary to properly and fully address this terrible situation. It’s investigative powers are needed to fully explore the issues and resources needed for support and counselling for those who have suffered violence and abuse.

We must do our best to end this shame that has caused such hurt, humiliation and pain.

Add your voice and call on Prime Minister Turnbull to establish a Royal Commission.
